Quartz Raid on Cronos Base
Quartz director Robert Meriwether released this statement today:
"As has been reported a few months ago, a Quartz first level response team, working on a reliable tip, raided a location suspected to be a base of Dr. Cronos, a minor Nazi war criminal also wanted for more recent crimes. We have finished sifting through the remains of the base and have concluded that Cronos is definitely alive and up to his old tricks. I would like to call upon every American to report any activities that they suspect may related to Cronos by calling 1-888-4-CRONOS. Quartz will not rest until this criminal is brought to justice."
Readers will remember that Cronos was the mastermind of an attack on Washington D.C. five years ago. This attack was foiled by an unprecedented alliance of superheroes, and provided the motivation for Congress to form Quartz as a response to super-related threats. Director Meriwether has repeatedly promised that such an event will not recur. While Quartz has performed admirably against lesser threats, with Cronos on the loose again Meriwether may have to live up to his promises.
