Alien Invasion?
Late January, six apparently alien spaceships appeared over the skies of Earth. Four of them stationed themselves over New York, Los Angeles, Paris, Tokyo, and Hong Kong. The sixth ship stationed itself over Armature's position in western Kansas, and has been following his progress across the state.
The director of Quartz had this statement:
"Yes, we have good reason to believe these ships are of extra-terrestrial origin. However, I want to stress that we have no reason to believe they are hostile, or connected with Armature's rampage. Until we establish communication with the aliens, we can make no assumptions."
Congress remains in session, debating appropriate responses to the aliens' appearance. Civil order is strained in each of the cities under an alien ship, as half the population attempts to leave, and an equal number of people attempt to enter. Civil flights into and out of the area are on an as needed, priority basis. New York has been hard hit, with the barely established order after the Apocalypse Now gas attack crumbling. Quartz agents and the National Guard are hard pressed to maintain order.
