Texas Senator Announces Bill
Senator Arnold Hampton (Texas, R) announced plans to introduce a bill that would grant Quartz a greater degree of freedom in managing the nation's superhero resources. Hampton had this to say:
"We are involved in a war against crime, and the enemy vastly outnumbers us. We must use our resources more efficiently, and if that means drafting superheroes so that they can be organized and dispatched more efficiently, then so be it. I propose to give Quartz the power to form a branch of the military composed entirely of superheroes. These task forces would be on call, to prevent the sorts of tragedies such as the deaths of the hostages in Dallas last month."
Sources in the White House said the President opposes such a bill and would veto it if it came across his desk.
