Crossover Earth '98![]()
The Game Thus Far Jay Shaffstall
By the time you read this, we will have successfully completed 4 turns of Crossover Earth '98. Part of my duty as GM of this game is to keep the game interesting for the players. I have about half a dozen major plotlines that some folks have started to see hints of, we have several major and many minor player plotlines going on, and lots of player-to-player interaction. I'm having fun as GM, but I want to get feedback from the players: does it seem like nothing's going on, is too much going on, should the game be more realistic, less realistic, etc. I can't say I'll change anything, but I'd like to know.
On my end, I'm extremely pleased with the quality of writing being generated by the players. I get to read each story as I assemble the gazette, and I have a great time doing it. The added detail that you all put into the stories really gives me good grist for the plot mill. It's the interaction between player generated background and my own plots that makes Crossover Earth what it is.
One of the things that I'll be doing in the near future is pulling players from the waiting list into the game. I think that adding several players will spice up the game. If you have any concerns about the number of players in the game, please let me know. I'll be making final decisions on this by the end of April.
Finally if there are any lurkers reading this, please feel free to vote on your favorites in this gazette (see the page on voting for details). The future of the voting system depends entirely on whether votes are being cast or not. I don't have a set figure in mind, but if the number of regular voters gets too small, I'll assume you all don't think it's worthwhile, and discontinue it.
