Deep Sea Expedition Departs

The deep sea expedition led by Dr. Heinrich Bourne departed this month from the San Diego harbor.  The expedition is travelling in an experimental deep sea vehicle designed by Dr. Bourne.  Technology for the vehicle was partially donated by Omega Corp.  The submersible will withstand the pressure even miles under the ocean, providing a self-contained living environment for the crew of four.  When asked if he expected to encounter anything dangerous, Dr. Bourne replied:

"Undoubtedly!  The pursuit of knowledge has always been dangerous, and I expect this to be no less so.  In fact, I was recently warned against taking this trip, or I would come up against things Man-Was-Not-Meant-To-Know.  I have faith, however, in our planning and in the submersible itself.  I would feel no safer being at home in bed."

The submersible will be out of radio contact for much of its trip.  The world will wait and wonder until they return to the surface in May.
