Teleportation a Reality?
In an announcement that stunned the scientific world today, the White House announced that a special research team has cracked the secret of practical teleportation. While the scientific community has known for some time that teleportation was possible, given the number of supers who have the ability, the mechanism was not understood.
Apparently, a special research team appointed by the President to study this effect has learned enough that the White House promises practical teleportation units to be in governmental use within the next six months. White House head of security Milton Howe was quoted as saying:
"The primary use of this new discovery must be the protection of our most important government officials. The use of teleportation for travel not only gives these officials more time at their destinations to work on matters of state, but provides them with an entirely secure means of transport. No longer will a lone assassin be able to pick off the President or any member of Congress as they leave a government building."
"Nor will we limit the use to governmental officials. Any person of suitable importance to the United States will be able to use the teleportation system we are developing if they feel the need."
Techical details have not been released, but sources within the White House indicate that the teleportation effect is generated between a pair of booths. Either booth can function as a transmitter or receiver, and any booth can target any other booth. Due to its use in governmental security, technical details are expected to be classified.
