Turns

Each turn the player submits orders for their hero and villain.  The types of actions allowable are:

Standing Orders: These are orders the character will perform the entire month.  Examples would be spending time at a mall picking pockets each day, meditating regularly to ensure world peace, working at your day job, etc.

Special Orders: These are relatively low-profile one time events during the month.  Examples would be researching the ownership of a suspicious import/export business, contacting an underworld organization, upgrading your suit of battle armor, etc.

Overt Orders: These are high-profile actions, and each character may only have one of these a month.  Characters do not have to perform an overt order each month.  An overt order will generally result in conflict with either a player character or a non-player character, and will be reported via a story in the gazette.   Note that while overts are usually the realm of villains, heroes can also initiate overts.  Perhaps the Crimson Creeper has tracked down Nightshadow and wants to capture him.

Guides for writing an overt:

  1. Decide what you want to happen
  2. Come up with plan on how the character will make this happen
  3. Include contingency plans in case events don't go the way you thought they would.
  4. If you want to target a particular character, note it in your overt.  You're not guaranteed you'll get that character (or you may get that character plus some!), but unless there are other conflicts your choice of opponents will be honored.
